Random day

I love doing eight hour day shifts. They always turn out to be good, not only do you get the benefit of only having to work two hour blocks (I get two fifteen minute breaks and an hour for lunch) but you also get to see most of the people that work that day that you otherwise wouldn't see. Then again sometimes that isn't so good... Anyway you also get paid awesomely in comparison to if you only had a titchy shift.
Today I was lucky enough to get one of these, and a few other nice surprises.
For one, a friend I'd sadly dropped out of contact with over a year ago randomly messaged me and asked how I was. I very nearly fainted. This might not seem like such a huge thing but when you take into account the fact he lives 15,489 km (9624m) away...it's kinda special. I mean it's not as if I can just drive up to his place and say hey or vise versa. It also really makes you realise just how much you can miss people without even realising it...
