I love him...

Last night my fiancee and I set a date for our wedding, something we hadn't planned to do till after Christmas, but it just...happened? We figured it would be really cool to get married on the 10/10/10 especially as it's his birthday that day too. So yeah now we have a date to work towards...scary but exciting ^_^ we also discussed the idea of an outside wedding but not anywhere specific. Personally I think at a garden or lake would be beautiful...though to get to a decent lake it's a 45 minute drive into woop woop so probably not the best option eh? Plus I have a feeling that after I see Lake Ontario all the ones here will look like paddle pools lol. I'm just so excited and happy ^.^ <3>
Other than wedding planning, I've actually been really sick lately. I managed to get an extreme version of a cold (normally I just get sniffles and a slight cough) which has made me pretty much house bound except for when I've had to go to the doctors trying to get a medical certificate... which is harder than it sounds on a weekend. Trust me to call in sick at noon without realising I needed a certificate to prove I was sick (isn't it obvious over the phone that I can't breathe?) when the only place on the coast that does them on a Saturday CLOSES at noon... anyway it's given me an excuse to sit and drink lemon honey tea whilst watching anime. Only downsides are the obvious factors of having a bad cold aka runny rose and lack of breathing ability... and that up until now I couldn't eat dairy. I LIVE off dairy. Cheese, milk and yoghurt are my main foods...that and chocolate. God not having chocolate was bad. Luckily I worked out MnM's don't coat your throat like block chocolate (thankyou candy shells!) Also Andrew has been really kind to me bringing me breakfast in bed and other sweet gestures.

Also...tonight as I was eyeing off some really beautiful bento boxes, he came up and asked which one I wanted. So I showed him and magically it added to the cart and is being sent to me :o God I'm spoilt. It really is beautiful though AAAND...microwave safe (a major factor as I'll probably want to heat up my food at work) This is it ~

I am so obsessed with cherry blossoms... But what I liked about this mainly was that it's 'cute' but it also has a definite feel of elegance. Something I wouldn't blush about taking out when I'm much older. That and it has pink on it :b (the all pink one was a bit much in my opinion)

You can find this bento box and many other goodies at https://www.jbox.com/
Anyway I have some spending spree urges that I plan to follow up on when I actually get PAID. Not working for an entire week sucks...

Rather corpse like...

Movies+Comfort Food+Warm Blanket= Where I want to be

Last Friday was Hell, it was the first time I failed my licence, my parents decided to go crazy at each other and we thought Andrew had lost a really important job opportunity... In fact it seems everyone has been having a crap time in my group... One got herself sucked into machinery last week and could have lost fingers, her sight or other horrific injuries...she was lucky to get out with just burns. Another recently attempted to suicide... nuff said there really.

Well, we all decided we needed to vegetate and have happy juice *cough*vodka and beer*cough* and what happens? A stupid bitch invites herself over and calls one of my friends a stupid hoe...repeatedly. I mean once is really bad but more than that is just... horrible. I mean my friend is most definitely NOT a whore and I don't appreciate her being called that. I also got called a rangger, which just shows she was a stupid looser.

In any case, before she came over we had a lot of fun, singing, drinking, making lame jokes that just rock when you're drunk and drinking a bit more. The other female and I also decided we loved the house owners Darlik and took photos of each other with the epic darlik.

I'm the idiot biting it...

After getting "merry" we made our way to KFC

Ze German (Adolf junior ~born exactly 100 years after Hitler lol~), L Fangirl, Smouch & Pom

Anyway I promise that my next entry wont be as... angsty.

Peace!

Constantine ♥ Canada! ♥ Computer Games ♥ Other Crap

My long awaited tax return came yesterday, I'm so excited because at least a third of it will be going into a flight to Canada. It feels unreal that I'm this close to getting there... I've been saying I want to go for about two years but it's only really in the last six months I've taken it seriously and actually done something about it. It's all very well to say you're going to do something, but to follow through feels great... I usually have trouble following through on my crazy plans ^^; But I figure you have to aim high.

Other than that on Wednesday I went on a crazy shopping trip with Andrew and we brought Sweeny Todd, Fat Pizza, The Matrix Trillogy, Constantine and Nirvana Unplugged in New York. He also found Age of Mythology, and Age of Empires II. However we only got Mythology... I'll have to go into town later and see if I can still get it cheeply. Mythology is just...annoying. I prefer being able to choose a race e.g. Japanese or Spaniards rather than choosing a God. Bleh...this world has enough religious wars going on without me creating one on my computer! I guess you could say the same for pitting race against race, but that's more "ok we have these skills, you have these skills. Now lets see how strong we can get" Rather than "Our God shall smite thee and you will be f***ed!" Most racism seems to stem from religious differences anyway. Just look at the middle east. And on this strain of thought....

♥

Constantine was great! I usually shy away from movies (or anything really) that have a God is awesome and the Satan sucks theme, and that's what I thought this would be like but no way in hell is it (please exuse that ^^')
John Constantine sees demons and angels and after attempting to suicide and spending time in hell (suicide is a mortal sin if you hadn't already learnt that) he vows to keep the balance deporting demons back to Hell e.t.c... now when Satan's son (yes Satan can have babies too XD ) tries to create his own kingdom the only one who can stop him is...you guessed it John Contantine. I'm not going to say too much more because I've probably already ruined it for anyone who hasn't seen it. My favourite bit though is where John basically says God has no plan he's like a kid with an ant farm. I don't know about you, but that just seems so right...

♥

Other than that I've just been laying around the house feeling dead... hopefully I get better before tomorrow morning >_< (work)

Crazy Cooking Adventure!

I've never really been considered a good cook by my family, however that may soon be a thing of the past. Yesterday I decided it could be fun to try making pastries, and my family actually liked them :o

AND there were no comments about it being deadly poison ^o^'

So what exactly did I make you might be wondering? Well currently I'm obsessed with putting maplesyrup on EVERYTHING (well other than my dinner and breakfast cereal...that wouldn't be good at all...) So I made some Apple/Maple/Pecan Danish pastries!! I can't really give you a recipe because I didn't use one, and used premade puff pastry >_> but I can at least give you a few tips ^^;
(mostly really basic but you have to start somewhere)
  • With the apple don't blend it too finely or the moisture sends the pastry soggy and you wind up with a mess. It's also so much yummier when you have chunks of apple to bite into!
  • Use grease proof paper AND non stick spray...normally I'd just use paper but these like to stick. A lot.
  • Keep the puff pastry in the freezer and only take out a few sheets at a time or it softens too much and it's like working with bubblegum. Not good.
  • Also don't force the pastry to bend whilst it's still partially frozen, or it will snap.
  • Separate an egg and use the whites as 'glue' where as you use the yolk to glaze. Sprinkle sugar for a crunchy finish.
  • More importantly experiment and have fun!

To be honest I know there are gramatical errors in this entry, but I just wanted an excuse to practice my sentence making in Japanese and this seemed a good place ^^;

Just a general entry about my day.

(Romanji for those without Japanese text installed on their computer)

Kyou wa watashino panya arubaito. Panya gasukidesu. Watashiwa ga yaku sukidesu nazenara keekiwa nioi sugoidesu. Chokere-to keeki ga oishii! Demo kyou wa watashiwa doonatsu maakaa.
Sonogo watashide hirune. Sonogo watashiwa asoibimasu konpyuutaa geemu.
Watashiwa tabetai...

o-yasumi nasai!

Next for me is conjunctions I think... so I don't need to start 50% of my sentences with watashi!>_<;; Highlight for english! Today I worked partime in the bakery. It's a good bakery. I like to bake because the smell of cakes is nice. Chocolate cake is delicious! But today I was a donut maker.
After I had an afternoon nap. After I played computer games.
I'm hungry...
Goodnight!

Random day

I love doing eight hour day shifts. They always turn out to be good, not only do you get the benefit of only having to work two hour blocks (I get two fifteen minute breaks and an hour for lunch) but you also get to see most of the people that work that day that you otherwise wouldn't see. Then again sometimes that isn't so good... Anyway you also get paid awesomely in comparison to if you only had a titchy shift.
Today I was lucky enough to get one of these, and a few other nice surprises.
For one, a friend I'd sadly dropped out of contact with over a year ago randomly messaged me and asked how I was. I very nearly fainted. This might not seem like such a huge thing but when you take into account the fact he lives 15,489 km (9624m) away...it's kinda special. I mean it's not as if I can just drive up to his place and say hey or vise versa. It also really makes you realise just how much you can miss people without even realising it...

Panini, Sanity & Purchases

devonport mall
Yesterday despite the bad weather I deicided to go into town with my partner rather than sit around the house like we usually would. I can't say anything major happened while we were down there, but I made a few interesting purchases and tasted what would have to be one of the yummiest foods down there.
It all started with the panini.
Now you may or may have not had panini before but in my opinion they are the perfect snack on a cold day. Maybe that and soup. The panino in question (yes panino is the singular noun) was a toasted cajian chicken that brought me much joy. In fact they are so good that when I had it in the paper bag in shops the staff even asked if I was the one with the yummy food. If it hadn't been pouring down earlier I would have been tempted to go get another one. I'll just have to make one later.

As for Sanity, not that doesn't apply to my state of mind (never will) it's actually a reference to the music and DVD store. I know they're fairly wide spread in Australia but I'm not sure about internationally. In anycase any trip into town usually ends up here at one point or another. As usual my partner checked out the DVD's and music whilst I gravitated towards the anime section. Fairly dismal in size and dominated by Naruto episodes but sometimes you can pick up the ocassional treasure! In my case I found the DeathNote live action movie. I'm not sure if I want to watch it before I've finished the anime, but it's nice to have it if I do. I might just watch it later anyway. Also the guy behind the counter actually watches it too so it was fun to talk about how awesome it is.

After that the weather started to go even worse and there was a light rainshower so we made our way to Cashworks, a second hand store that sells games, consols, bike gear, phones, DVD's music and just about anything you can think of. I nearly died when I looked in the computer games section and found Sims2 expansion packs for $15 each. Major retail outlets are still charging $50 each... the disks wern't even minorly scratched ^o^ So I got Nightlife and University. Yay now I can obesess on the Sims2 and have more options!

Sadly they don't have any DS games in at the moment, just PSP. Makes you wonder about the sucess of the PSP compared to the Nintendo DS huh?

Anyway after that the weather remained bad, and it was close to the time all the highschool students congrigate in the mall and make it a less nice place to be. So we headed home.

And that was my trip!
